A Idea Long Overdue!
»
An idea long overdue. I got this to take on the road, being fed up with crawling under desks and behind curtains to plug in all my mobile devices for charging in hotel rooms. I found it to be well-designed - you can plug it into the top or bottom of an outlet without covering the other side of the outlet, and plug phone, PDA, laptop, etc. into it either going north or south. Why can't all chargers be designed like that? But now I don't need to lug all the chargers! I noticed some other reviews saying the unit didn't have enough power for multiple devices, but I didn't have any problem with that. Fully charged when I went back after a few hours. I plan to start acquiring these for home use and to give as Christmas gifts - anyone who plugs in multiple electronic devices every night would find this a huge convenience.

A Nice Idea that Doesn't Work, and is Larger than Expected
»
I ordered this directly from Kensington. When I got it, I was surprised at how large it was, but it still would have been worth it if it had worked. Unfortunately, when an iPhone 3G is plugged in to it, the other 3 USB slots don't have enough juice available to charge anything else. Ditto for a full-size (5G) iPod. For tiny items, like my iPod Nano and Jawbone bluetooth headset, multiple items can be charged. But HELLO!!! A BULKY 4-port charger that can really only charge ONE device at a time??? How does that help me???
Maybe this is just a manufacturing defect - Kensington was surprised, and said they would send me a replacement, but I have yet to receive it. If it comes, and works as it should, I'll post an update.

Doesn't charge USB devices.
»
If I could give zero stars, I would. This thing charges my HTC phone, but that's about it. Doesn't charge my PS3 controller, or my Creative MP3 player. My computer charges everything, but I hate leaving it on all the time to be used just as a power source. Bottom line: USELESS!
I got it today, and it's going back today. Thanks for wasting my time Kensington!
