This De-Icer is ideal for small patio ponds up to 50 gallons. Operates automatically in freezing temperatures. I have a 35 gallon plastic container that I use as a patio pond. I keep a couple of goldfish in it. The Patio Pond
De-icer works well with this small container.I have had sucess with my fish surviving through the winter. I cut back my hardy plants, dropping them to the bottom of the container and they survive the winter as well without freezing. The only draw back is that the ring will get deposit build-up and needs to be cleaned peroidically.
