This latest model in the Dyson Ball series allows you to vacuum smoothly around furniture and other obstacles with Dyson's signature Dyson Ball technology. Three powerful cyclones spin pet dander, hair, dirt, dust, and other allergens out of carpet, and the lifetime HEPA filter traps microscopic allergens.

Great vacuum - keep an eye out for good deals!

Very impressed with this vacuum so far. The first time we used it (having just vacuumed with our old vacuum a couple of days earlier) - we had to empty the canister three times.
I do have some minor gripes. It wasn't something I noticed prior to purchase - but unlike a lot of vacuums - the DC25 does NOT have a light on the front. It would definitely be useful in corners / under hard to move furniture. The hose attachments provided in the box are good - but none worked amazingly well on the stairs. The brush attachment wasn't stiff enough, and the other just didn't pickup all the animal hair - so I'm about to purchase the $20 stiff brush to see how that works. Lastly, the power cord could be a little longer.
As per another review, the hose design did take a minute to get used to - but is very space saving and to my surprise was long enough to do our stair case without dragging the vacuum half way up the stairs.
I'm still rating this vacuum as five stars because it does an excellent job of cleaning carpet, is easy to manoeuvre, and is a lot lighter and less noisy than my old vacuum.

Close to perfect

Finally got tired of having to use my old vacuum's small hose attachment (10yr old Panasonic) over every single square inch of carpet to pick up the pet hair that gets matted into the rug (I have 2 cats). I did a bunch of online research and narrowed it down to this one, the DC17 and the Kenmore Progressive. I chose the DC25 because it's lighter than the DC17 and it has the re-cleanable filters whereas the Kenmore you have to replace. Also the ball maneuverability is nice to have, and come on, it just looks cool. This DC25 works great. I've only used it once, but it's done a better job than me on my knees with my old vacuum. Gonna be a huge time saver, assuming it lasts and performance doesn't degrade over time. We shall see.
I only gave it 4 stars because I believe use of the hose extension is kind of a pain. My old vacuum I could just pull the hose out and start sucking. This one you have to flip a cap, extend a pole, press a button and do a jiggling pulling motion to pull the hose out. Not a huge deal breaker for me, and maybe I'll get better at it.

Excellent Vacuum

This vacuum has it all: light weight, maneuverable, great suction, very intuitive design, smallish size for easy storing. Plus the rotating brush attachment (animal version) does a great job on stairs and also has great suction. I also don't mind the clear canister. Seeing all the fine dust and hair that is getting picked up gives positive re-enforcement in a weird way.
The only drawback is the price, but with the lower models you will sacrifice at least one of the important (to me) features mentioned above. I couldn't be happier with this model.

I love this one. it works ready great and powerful. I have a bernese mountain dog and she shade a lot. This one actually helps me to keep my carpet clean very easily, and I don't need to buy extra re-place bag for it. Althought it is pricy, but in the long run, it should be worthy. Will see in next two year. I recommand this product.

Great Vac

I have had my Dyson DC15 with ball for over a year and I still love it. Picks up what others leave behind, especially dog har. Very maneuverable with the ball. Empty with touch of a button, (do not empty inside)
