Good fabric, but it doesn't stick.

The five-inch size of these patches attracted me. Also, the price was right. I have a pair of jeans with a rip in the knee. Five inches would cover this rip and leave a three-quarter inch overlap. I thought that the overlap would make the patch seal strongly over the rip.
Through Amazon, I ordered the patch material from Joann Fabric & Craft Stores. I received the patch in almost record time, only a couple days. Congratulations to Joann!
The patch material seems durable enough. But ironing isn't my idea of fun. I'd rather be working out in the shop. I hoped that this patch would stick, and that would be that. Nope. No matter how hard I tried, the patch just didn't hang on. A corner always came loose. I know that the iron was hot enough, because the adhesive released. In fact, underneath the patch, my jeans now have a nice, blue stain. Whatever patch I use to replace this one had better cover the stain.
I've used other patches before. I know that you can often re-seal loose edges. With the Dritz patch, I ironed over that loose corner three times in two days. Now I'm giving up. Though inadequate, the cheap patches from a local store stick better. I like Joanne Fabric and Crafts, but I certainly won't reorder this product. I would order something else from Joanne, though. If I could rate the store separately, I'd give it five stars.
