Shouldn't it actually heat?

I am extremely disappointed with this product. I bought an electric heater because of the convenience over propane. Only problem (and it's a big one) is that it doesn't heat! The coils glow but you have to put your hand 6-inch away to feel any warmth. The manufacturer's claim that it warms up to 10-foot is ridiculous and blatantly false. I will never purchase another product from this manufacturer or supplier.
