amazon service terrible - read before buying

unfortunately I cannot review the product. I ordered/paid for a new vacuum and it was delivered on the estimated day. What a surprise when I opened the box. A vacuum tossed loosely in a box. the vacuum cannister, hose, wheels were filthy, filled with dust, hair, dirt, possibly cat litter.. who knows what else..bedbugs?. I immediately requested a return. Amazon "customer service via phone link" said i"d have to take it to the post office - 20 lbs. Really, give me a break.. my cell phone dime, my time, my money, someone else's dirt in my apartment... what happened to service in the good ol' usa. amazon finally agreed to have UPS pickup at my apartment (i should have to demand?) pick up in 2-5 business days - package on my front stoop..nyc.. hmmm and my refund is dependent upon amazon's receipt of box which i have no way of tracking. finally after 20 minutes of demanding plus being on hold..amazon says they'll pick up next day.. the package hasn't moved yet.. refund.. dependent upon their receipt of package. C'mon amazon - credit a customers account more quickly..have a little pride. I'm still working on it but before you buy.. i guess anything blender, vacuum, ...

if you need to complain - who do you call? google ..amazon complaint department first... insightful
time is money.. i've spent enough of both here..

Great for Wood Floors

I have a heavy Kirby vacuum that I used for the carpets that also had an attachment for wood floors. Pulling the upright along while cleaning the wood floors was the pits. It kept falling over and wouldn't round the corners. The wand had to be cleaned every minute. I got this Panasonic vacuum strictly for the wood floors. I love it! It is small and lightweight, but has good suction. I can zoom around everything with ease. The floor attachment has a spinning brush powered by the vacuum suction. It sweeps the wood floor clean while sucking up the dirt. It works great! It is not a vacuum for carpets. On carpets, it would only act as a carpet sweeper. So, if you have a good upright for carpets and need something for the wood floors, or your tile kitchen and bathroom floors, give this one a try. The cord is short, but retracts into the machine. That is the only downside of this vac.

Great ergonomics and good balance of size and power

I have been using this product for 2 weeks and am delighted. The power is more than enough for small to medium jobs. The small size and weight makes it very easy to move around - you can pull it along on its big wheels or carry it by its handle. The ergonomics are excellent - there are several nice small touches, such as two slots to park the head in two positions. Quality construction and materials.
Yes, it's a bit noisy but not excessively so and I would guess normal for a compact yet powerful vacuum. Yes, the power cord is not as long as with a full-sized vacuum but I would not want to give up the small size for a few more feet of cable.

When the old canister was doing in the back of the person using it, i searched the web and found reviews from seniors that specifically states that this was a kinder product, so i ordered it. it is great...it's easy to use, easy on the back, picks up well. My house has no thick carpets, so it's perfect for me. I'd highly recommend this product.

Expected something better

Based on other reviews I thought I was getting a small, good quality vacuum cleaner. I was very disappointed when I first turned it on. Even though it has very good sucktion it doesn't pick up small pieces from my rug. I have to bend and remove them manually. It takes me three times longer to clean the rug than it used to with the old one. I'm giving it one star for being very operable. Besides that it doesn't function as it's described.
