« makes a great bunny cage »

Though not intended for this use, we constructed a bunny cage from 2 sets of these interlocking cubes. The definite drawback to the product is the fragility of the connectors-we broke 3 during the process, but since we have used zipties to provide additional attachment, it is not a problem. One needs to be careful if attempting to hammer the plastic connector or even trying to force the wire wall in, can cause them to break. Build and reinforce with zipties, then go back and gently tighten down the connectors, then can remove the zip ties if you want-we did't, just trimmed them down so not so obvious.

« Buying my second set, but had difficulty assembling »

The set I have assembled 2 weeks ago is holding up fine, with a heavy load of textbooks and school supplies. I am ordering a second set because my daughter wants one for her closet too.

I found assembly to be very difficult. One must get the edge of each face seated well in the connector, and sometimes do this with three faces at 90 degree angles without knocking an earlier face out of its good fit. I used a hammer, and eventually got all faces at ninety degree angles seated deeply in the connector grooves. I would think that the more you do this, the easier it gets, but when the unit is brand new, it is quite daunting and time consuming.

« Great if you want shelves that fall apart! »

I got these shelves a few years ago. I needed something that could be put in different ways or over things (like a misc. pipes or a mini fridge in a dorm). They do work nicely for that purpose but they fall apart almost every time I'd try to pull something out. They can hold little weight and I had to use zip ties to keep them from falling apart every time my dog bumped into them. After having them fall on me one to many times I just replaced them.

The only reason they get a 2 star instead of one is because they are able to be expanded upon/put in different ways so they do work well for dorms or as a quick/temporary storage.

« Perfect Guinea Pig Cage »

We were looking for a large Guinea Pig cage, but couldn't find anything within a price range we could afford. That's when I happened across the idea for a cage made out of these wire storage crates and corrugated plastic. For under $40, we have a 9 square foot cage and one happy guinea pig. It's perfect!

I needed to store/organize a ton of yarn. I've been told, If you want to do something efficiently, do what the pros do in that field. These looked like a close second to the diagonal bins the yarn stores use. {Didn't work, btw. Those bins are diagonal for a reason!} Now I am loving these for towels and linens, and they even work well in my retro-ish bathroom. Sturdy, no wobbling, ample size. Didn't read reviews here till now, since I ran across them at a local shop, so I was surprise that people found them easy to assemble. I have put probably 2 dozen 'boxes' of furniture together, from beds to entertainment centers. I could NOT get the connectors in, and wonder if perhaps some of them leave the factory not shaped perfectly. Otherwise, highly recommended.
