I like it!
»
I bought this as a gift for my wife, but had to load a few books on it before giving it to her. The screen is very readable. I have been reading ebooks for several years on my laptop and various PDAs. The Kindle screen is easily the most readable screen I have seen. It is very easy on the eyes.
Finding and downloading books is very simple, too. It was very quick to download and appear in the library. Highly recommended.

Exactly what i was hoping for!
»
Just got my kindle on Monday. After reading on it for about an hour i completely 'forgot' i wasn't reading paper. It is really comfortable to hold, and although the page flip can get in the way i don't think i will have a problem adjusting.
My only gripes are 1) that i wish i could subscribe natively to RSS feeds 2) the SD card slot was on the top/side and more easily accessible. 3) native PDF support for all my downloaded books

This is one of the best purchases I ever made....
»
The Amazon Kindle had been on my personal wish list for over a year now and I finally decided to buy it on a whim after seeing it on the Oprah Winfrey Show. I have to say that it is absolutely one of the best purchases that I have ever made for myself. It's lightweight, easy to read, and so compact. It's perfect with one exception: the reading at night issue that most Kindle owners have. I am a night person so the majority of my reading is done at night. The problem is there is no backlight so I have to get a book light to clip to the cover and although it works it would definetly be more convenient to have a light built in. That being said, I couldn't imagine a better gift to give yourself or any book lover that you know!!

Kindle is GREAT
»
I love my new kindle. I was a little skeptical at first because I am a very materialistic kind of person and love having my books in a book case. But after about a week I started raving about the kindle to everyone. I love that you can change the font size and that it doesn't have to be "back lit" No eye strain. I can see that this is the wave of the future. Can you imagine seeing kids with no back-packs? I understand that there is now a waiting list of at least 11 weeks--I sure am glad I got mine when I did.

LOVE IT

I travel so much and the weight of books is a problem...not with The Kindle. I had 6 books downloaded and read on international flights. I
was gone on this last trip for 10 days and only charged it 3 times. I have not had it long enough to know how many hours it will keep charged but had no problems. I will not travel with out it.
