Coleman Converta Cot

I bought this cot for nights when I had to stay over at my research lab to oversee experiments. It is well constructed, sturdy and compact when folded away. I was able to get a good night's rest on this awesome cot. I would highly recommended it.

Better than expected
»
I was worried it would not be sturdy since it converts but it is plenty sturdy in any position. I am 200lbs. Fabric goes "taught" as can be when you open this thing...I think it is guaranteed never to stretch too? I bought 4. My family slept on them 3 nights. Sat up to watch TV in them, then laid them down for sleep. Converting is very nice feature. However, our backs are killing us, daughter said more comfortable sleeping on carpet floor. We will have to get air pads or something. That's probably standard problem with cots though. Also, I wish there was a clip to hold them closed when carrying but I can rig something no doubt. Also, a carry case would have been nice. Really though, the converta feature and the good quality makes this a fine choice.

Cot maybe; lounger questionable
»
I just got this cot/lounger and set it up and tried sitting in it. I'd say it doesn't make a very good lounger. It didn't seem any too comfortable to me for that. It might be better as a cot, but it seems awfully narrow. When I was opening it up and trying it, I hurt my fingers three or four times, I think because it skids too easily across the floor. With the foot rest down I feel like I'm sliding out of the chair. Also, you have to get up and struggle with the mechanism to adjust the backrest. As a cot, it doesn't appear entirely safe from collapse. Actually, I think they should call this "The Pink Panther Lounger," you know, the one that attacks him! If you want a cot for your kids, I'd say either get something cheaper or else BETTER. Young kids would be better off on a pallet on the floor. At least there's no danger of collaspe or pinched fingers. I can't understand why this thing got such good ratings. I am returning this item. However, the postage may take up most of the refund. One reason I got this, besides believing it was a good product, was that there was no postage with Amazon prime, but to return it, I will have to pay it.

Great Cot!
»
We bought this cot for our 8 yr old daughter's friends when they sleep over - to keep them off the floor. It is great! It folds down for easy storage and it is easier than an airmattress to put up and down. The only complaint - if you could say it was one - is that if you lean too hard or sit where the "head" of the cot is it will collapse. But it is really no big deal if you are aware of it. (The kids acutally think it is fun and funny!) We are going to buy another for my daughter to use during sleepovers too!
