Product description

Shades of cool blue accented with green gives Bluemoon dinnerware from Caleca a fresh and appealing nature. The two serving pieces in this set display the pattern dramatically thanks to their size: a spectacular 16-inch platter, big enough for a roast or a mountain of rice pilaf topped with chicken breasts, and a 10-1/2-by-4-inch bowl, ideal for a tossed green salad or fresh fruit. Each features a denim-blue center encircled by a thin band of white, then a band of spring green festively dotted with darker green, and finally a swath of robin's egg blue radiating with denim-blue leaves. The outside of the bowl is glossy white accented with one blue stripe near the top. Place settings and serving items feature different combinations of the Bluemoon pattern for a mix-and-match sensibility.

Made in Italy of chip-resistant ceramic, each Caleca dinnerware piece is hand-painted by skilled artisans with glazes that meet US standards by being free of lead and cadmium. « EXCELLENT CERAMICS WITH A HISTORY »

I have personally visited the Caleca ceramic manufacturing plant while stationed in Sicily with the military. These folks know their craft and are masters at it. The ceramics are durable, dish washer safe and beautiful on the tavola italia. I highly, highly recommend them.

I have bought Caleca bowls as gifts for my rather large family for the last 15 years. They are great--don't stain--and a visual delight to any diner table. I use them as pasta bowls. Large enough to put all the pasta in and use a serving dish. Everyone I give them to loves them as well.
