When this came and I opened it my immediate thought was that the person I was sending it to as a gift would think it was total junk. I think that sums it up.

Total Fun

I purchased this for my husband and he was like a kid making his own Root Beer. It was very easy to make, and tastes great! I highly recommend this for any age.

Awesome!

I honestly liked Mr. RootBeer better and I expected I would. I expected it be be more difficult than it was, but it was really quite easy to make. I also worried about not refrigerating at the right time, but it was pretty obvious when they were ready. (At 76 degrees it was 48 hours.) I took a lot of time when cleaning all the kitchen utensils. $25 for 2 gallons of homemade root beer and the fun making it was worth it. The refills are only $6 for 2 more gal. Good luck!

Great Product

This rootbeer kit is great. It is easy and fun to use. If your rootbeer is flat, you probably didn't let it sit in a warm, dark place long enough. It also tastes a lot better if you refrigerate it overnight before drinking it. Hope this helps.

Non-Alcoholic Beer
»
I'm in college and my roommates and I have decided that brewing beer would be pretty awesome. It's actually becoming a pretty big thing...
But anyways, we were gonna be brewing beer and heard that rootbeer takes a lot shorter to make so we got this kit.
The steps were kind of confusing, even for us college kids, so it'd be best for adult supervision. But we got through it all, and in the end we had some home made rootbeer!
It definitely does not taste like store bought rootbeer, it is very strong in taste but weak in carbonaion. They balance each other out nicely, so it goes down smooth. There's enough to make 8 bottles of it, so there's enough to "go around."
I'd recommend this if you want to begin brewing, and learn a lot about the history of rootbeer. Remember to wash your hand! ^_-
