Great Entry Level Grinder
»
I had stuck with buying pre-ground Illy coffee, until I decided to take the big step of grinding my own. It does the trick and I am definitely satisfied with it's performance and the fresh brewed coffee that I enjoy everyday. Easy to store and use, I would recommend this to a friend and even buy another.
This grinder does not have any coarse control and tends to grind on the finer side. It is also useful for spices.

This grinder does the trick. I don't drink coffee, I use it to grind flax seeds and it's great. Quiet, efficient, good looking.

27 Years of Flawless Operation

I don't know how Krups makes money; this coffee grinder is something I have used every morning for more than 27 years. I have few possessions that have served me as well as this grinder. I don't know about spices, etc, but this appliance has served me well. It is the Toyota of appliances, many thousand of miles, often used more than once a day, and still humming. What that everything in life were as dependable as my Krups grinder.

Twenty years - time for a new one

I bought two of these actually a bit over 20 yrs. ago. My brother's needed replacing last year so I bought a Cuisinart which barely grinds the coffee now in less than a year. What a waste of money! My own Krups needs replacing now because the blades have become dull but it is still running. I'm amazed at some of the negative reviews. And yes, we drink lots of coffee so these little machines have had quite a workout. I plan on buying another Krups so I hope they still make them like they used to!

Overall, nice product but can't be used for espresso. If you are not planning on making an espresso grind, then this grinder is just fine. I bought it hoping to use it for my espresso machine but it turned out (as another reviewer has mentioned) it is not designed and suitable for that purpose. You can still do it but then the blades produce a fine powder that sticks together and prevents the water from going through. At best, you can make a good cup of espresso by turning the pump on and off but that's very inconvenient and slow. Therefore, for grinds other than espresso, this product is good. I like the quality and desing.
