Should have been included w/saw...
»
Does it work? Yes. Does it work well? Yes. Does it install in and out easily? Yes. Should it have come w/the saw? YES. I paid just over $400 for the saw - which is quite good, but the reason you pay $400 for a saw is so you don't have to buy all of the $20, 30 and 40 dollar attachments for them. Again, very good saw, very good fence, a little tacky on the marketing of such a pricey saw.

Well Built, Easy - on / Easy - off

Just a little pricey. Not sure why it isn't included w/the saw.
I own it and use it professionally.
Reasons to buy:
1) Fits very accurately into the saw. No stepped transition between mating parts, good alignment, no wobble/very secure.
2) It attaches fast and securely with just one screw-knob. I was concerned that it might be a pain to move out of the way to right-hand bevel. Not the case, very fast - easy-on/easy-off. Drop in, tighten screw-knob, done. Lines up just about perfect, no adjusting.
3) Good quality construction & materials, matches the saw exactly. It's made for this saw, by Hitachi, so it's not just some cheap afterthought/aftermarket item.
4) Necessary for tall stock.
Bottom Line:
So it's a little spendy. So is the saw, but once you have it you won't think about what it costs, just whether it works well or not. It does, buy it.

The saw was great, but I needed the extra accuracy this well made fence gave me.
