The original Pawleys rope hammock features custom designed stretcher bars cut from seasoned hardwood, then steamed, bent, drilled, sanded, and varnished, all to impart a comfortable sway to the hammock and to spread the rope evenly for optimum stability.     « Great Hammock! »
    I have had one of Pawleys Island cotton hammocks in the past which finally had to go after years of use. I was a little apprehensive about this new material, but it feels even better than the all cotton one and is supposed to survive the elements even better. We shall see, but I am expecting this one will be as good or better than its predecessor. Meanwhile, this is a quality hammock and very comfortable. Just what my family loves. I would recommend it to anyone!!!

    We've owned at least 4-5 Pawley's Island Cotton Hammocks over the past 20 years. They've always been well-made and comfortable, but because we leave our hammock outside from late Spring until late Fall, the rope tends to mildew and disintegrate after a while. When I fell through the hammock recently (well, part of me did!), it was time to go shopping.. After reading a number of reviews, I chose the large oatmeal duracord hammock. So far, we have not been disappointed! This hammock is plenty big enough for two adults, and the duracord feels as soft as cotton. Our 5 year old grandson LOVES the hammock and we spend lots of time swinging and singing in the hammock together.

    This is my second Pawleys Island Hammock. I will never buy another brand of hammock. These are very well made, and will last at least 3-4 years if you leave it out in the weather. We use our hammock heavily. If you take it in for the winter, or during long periods of rain, it may last much longer. They might seem pricey when you compare them to something at Target on sale, but Pawleys Island Hamocks are 10 times better quality. You will love this hammock.

    Awesome, Love it! Easy to install.

    Bought it 3 months ago for spring.

    Very easy to install, also bought its case later on.

    Enjoyed it very much.

    The other reviewers were correct, when they said it can withstand rain,ice, snow. (snow - i took it off and put it in the case for next spring!...)

    Researched it quite a bit in the sporing goods store, found other brands atleast forty bucks cheaper, but this was well worht it!. Very nice quality.

    Bought the OATMEAl color with the DURACORD ROPE.

    Rain did rust the METAL Springs on the 2 side legs a bit, but nothing that a rug wont clear off.

    Overall, very satisfied with purchase!.

    Install took only 10 mins. (was surprised...) - and surprise - NO TOOLS NEEDED!...

    Box is very heavy! and long!..

    Buy it!.
