LED lights are incredible-they use hardly any power, yet kick out a huge amount of light for their size. They're reliable too, as the LEDs themselves are built inside a solid case, making them more durable than incandescent lights with their easily-shattered glass bulbs. And consider this: while the average incandescent bulb may last 50,000 hours-at best-before it burns out, an LED can last 100,000 hours or more. Like many other manufacturers, Gerber has started offering a line of LED flashlights, including the Infinity Ultra Task. In addition to the durability and longevity you get via the LED bulbs, this little light features epoxy-coated circuitry, which means its insides won't fall to pieces if you drop it or accidentally smack it against a rock. According to the manufacturer, the Infinity Ultra is waterproof down to 10 feet, too. Though the Infinity Ultra's beam is very bright for its size, this is not the best flashlight for navigating unlit country roads at night or for exploring abandoned warehouses-in these cases you'd want more than the 30-foot beam you get with this light. It is perfect for camping, however, where its durability, small size, and light weight make it ideal for hauling in a pack and illuminating a tent.
