The safe, effective way to stop excessive barking. When used according to instructions, the Innotek Free Spirit No-Bark Collar automatically detects barking and discourages it by delivering a brief, harmless electronic stimulation. Since it senses the vibrations produced by the dog's vocal cords, the No-Bark Collar is activated only by the bark of the dog that is wearing the collar. When your dog first barks, he receives a Level 1 stimulation. A two-second learning timeout follows, to give your dog a chance to associate the bark with the stimulation. If your dog barks again, he will receive a Level 2 stimulation, followed by another timeout. The Auto-Set design automatically increases the stimulation through as many as seven levels until your dog stops barking. The collar is designed to protect your dog from over-stimulation. If your dog stops barking after receiving a Level 4 stimulation, after a five minute bark-free period, the collar automatically sets the next stimulation back one level, in this case Level 3. At its next bark, the dog would receive a Level 3 stimulation, a warning level that it should recognize. The Auto-Set feature is fair to the dog. Should it stop barking at the warning level, it could soon wean itself down to the lowest level of stimulation. Your dog will soon learn that the best way to avoid stimulation is to stay quiet. Some dogs learn faster than others, so be patient.

Outstanding Product-it really works!

I have to admit that I was skeptical of this product. My Golden Retriever loves to bark. It took just a couple of days for her to stop. I loaned it to my daughter to try on her Retriever..she has now bought one. Same for my son..he also bought one for his dog. I was also concerned about the training being painful for the dog, but the automatic, gradual increase in shock level seems to be very effective as a gentle reminder.

Big disappointment

Item was shipped with sparse instructions. I thought the battery was dead because I couldn't make it work. After buying replacement batteries, I finally got the collar to operate, and it made my dog cry out, or yelp, making convoluted turnovers on the floor. He didn't stop barking, and was making such a fuss I couldn't take it - it was like he was being tortured. Item description at Amazon.com led me to believe features not included were included. Anybody need a used item with 3 extra batteries?

More Problems
»
We bought this collar in hopes that it would help our dog quit whining while he is in his crate due to separation anxiety. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but really the only thing it has done is make our dog afraid to go into his crate because he doesn't realize it is the collar shocking him. If I had it to do all over again I think I would have bought a training collar instead where I have more control over the whole process. The collar can be very sensitive at times and at other times it seems to take forever for it to take action. We have a toy poodle and he is very smart but after wearing the collar for the last few weeks he has now started peeing in his crate in retaliation and he doesn't have a very big crate so we aren't sure why he is doing this. He has been sleeping in his crate for the last ten months and his only problem was the separation anxiety, now I fear we may have created more problems for us to address and I don't even know where to begin!

Does the Job!

Works great! I like that it senses vibrations from your dog rather than sound - His old collar would shock him when his sister would bark - no fair.

I thought this product was awesome and the best deal I could find ANYWHERE! We have a weiner dog with a flare for all night long barking (at nothing) after the first night he wore this it was weeks before he started barking again and even then it took only one night to refresh his memory that barking is not allowed at night at our home...
Thanks Rebekah and Jim Nelson
