Moved My Blender
»
I moved my blender off of the kitchen counter to make room for my new favorite kitchen appliance! This Cocoa-Latte Maker is wonderful!!! The blender may move back in the summer, but for now, when it's cold, this hot drink maker runs every day. It's larger than I thought it would be, although not too big, and holds enough hot chocolate for 6 big mugs full. Of course you can make only one cup if you you want. It stirs, heats, and froths just like it says it would, and even keeps the extra liquid hot until you need it. The pour spout works fine, the instruction book comes with lots of recipes for all kinds of drinks, and the unit is easy to clean. I love mine and even bought one for a friend. I don't know how I lived without it!

Nice, but no coffee bar
»
I've had this machine at least 3 years, using it for hot cocoa or chai. It doesn't produce as light as froth as a professional coffee-bar steamer, but makes a pleasant drink.
I like:
It's held up through many uses.
It heats milk to a consistent drinkable temperature.
It's sturdy enough to mix in dense chocolate.
It takes minimal counter space.
I don't like:
The coating has worn off the bottom making it slightly hard to clean.
It's very loud.
In all, a low-tech, low-cost product that delivered on its promise.

Disappointed - warm chocolate, but not hot. Buy something else.
»
The hot chocolate was warm that I made, but definitely not hot. And the frother button didn't seem to do anything. I also tried this with Chai Tea mix and it also resulted in mediocre results.

Not too bad...not great either...
»
I received this as a gift. I wanted another brand/style and really wanted to return this one but I read the reviews and decided to keep it anyway.
Okay, no it is NOT hot by a log shot. I should say that I am one that prefers hot to the extreme though so I will say that it probably would "do" when it comes to hot beverages. I just drink it way to fast and feel "rushed" when drinking it. With hotter beverages, I get to relax and enjoy. That being said, lately I got into a nightly ritual of drinking hot chocolate with my son. Doing two cups at the same time would give either way too cold or way too hot...satisfying only one party per setting!
Now enter this hot chocolate maker. It is not too hot for him but hot enough for him to enjoy the cup at a leisurly pace. While I am rinsing the maker, I put my cup in the microwave for ~30-45 seconds. The frothing part is pretty cool. The "froth" does not last long in the cup. But that is okay since we prefer whipped cream anyway. I find that if I put the frother on at the same time the machine is making the drink it tastes better and the dring "seems" hotter. (maybe that is in my head)
I don't think for the price range you will find a better/hotter/easier hot chocolate maker. I was going for something I could just throw the ingredients in and finish up some odds and ends while waiting for it to finish. Otherwise I would be standing on the stove stirring milk. This sets me free a little bit and now that time saved goes to quality time with my little boy. A few degrees cooler is worth it to me.
