Duncraft´s Metal Safe Haven feeder is a squirrel resistant sanctuary for birds. The HavenguardTM fencing provides perching for many birds to feed at once, providing constant activity, bird song, and vibrant color! The plastic coated metal fencing deters unwanted guests such as pigeons, grackles, and squirrels. Smaller birds are allowed to feed in peace from 6 metal ports. The feeder´s design makes it impossible for squirrels to lift the metal lid off the seed tubes. The metal roof protects birds and seed from rain and snow and the large, metal seed tray keeps seed from spilling on your patio, lawn, or flower bed while preserving seed for birds. The unit is made to facilitate fast cleaning and the clear seed tubes keep seed levels visible at all times. The metal cage, cap, ports, perches, and base prevent damage from squirrels and beaks. Three tubes allow you to offer different seed types and attract a variety of bird species.

Don't Waste Your Money
»
The Duncraft 18202 Safe Haven Wild Bird Feeder With Metal Seed Tray has several problems making it a waste of money. First, a design flaw makes it impossible to clean so when it rains the seeds congeal together and there is no way to get the old seed out. Second, another design flaw makes the thing apt to fall down to the ground (the rope is still connected to the top of the feeder but the top of the feeder and rest of the feeder won't stay together.

Not a good choice
»
The roof leaked during a light rain and all the seed was ruined. The design seems guaranteed to leak. I sealed mine with acquarium sealer, but I don't know if that will work. Gray squirrels can't get in, but red squirrels sure can, so it is only squirrel-proof if grays are the only ones in your yard. It is very heavy and needs serious support to hold it up.
