Typically, rainbows are associated with rain, but that's all about to change! Let the sun shine in... this Rainbow Maker is solar powered! And big bucks off thanks to a special deal I negotiated. Place it in a sunny window and a solar panel powers the motor that turns the Swarovski crystal. The crystal splits the sun's light into rainbow-colored reflections that cast light around your room. Measures 2 x 1 1/4 x 6" and weighs approx. 2 ozs. Order one, or more, ONLINE today! Solar Powered Rainbow Maker

rainbows are beautiful!

My husband and I were vacationing up in the snowy mountains of Lake Tahoe and while having lunch one day at a resort tucked amidst the naked aspens, rainbows were floating around the room. My husband alerted me to look at the little solar powered gadget on the sunny window and pointed out that the rainbows were coming from there. That put such a smile on my face and I got up to get a closer look. A must have. We purchased it right there and later found more to purchase on Amazon for gifts. We bought quite a few so far and I try to think of my family and friends with sunny windows because this Kikkerland Rainbow Maker is one delightful invention. Perfect size and sparks a good energy into the room. Love this item so much. Lovely, fun, charming and clever! 5*****stars for sure.

My daughter loves this! It works just fine as long as it's getting direct sun for a few minutes. The rainbows move around the room rather quickly as the prism turns. We've had ours for a year, and it's still going just fine.

downside of solar powered rainbow maker
»
Solar powered rainbow maker: One big problem given the ever changing angle and position of the sun is that the solar panel is fixed, and would be better on a swivel base, because it only works when the panel DIRECTLY faces the sun.

Broke right away

Our son was given this as a gift. The suction cup did not attach to the window firmly enough, and it fell. The crystal chipped but did not shatter. Unfortunately, the solar mechanism must have been damaged, and it has never worked.
While others do enjoy this solar toy, I would suggest buying chandelier crystal replacement pieces. I did this for very little money through Amazon, and got a huge array of different crystals for under $30. We have these strung up and in a window. In the spring and summer, we marvel every day at "rainbow hour", which spreads a dazzling array of rainbows even into the next room.

I was very happy with the product and speed of delivery. Later I tried to order one from another site and it was never mailed- my account was credited but the gift was never received. I will use Kirklands again.
