Flimsy and frustrating
»
This is so difficult to put together and it does not stay together at all. Also, one kit barely builds a tiny playset so you really need to get two.

Not such a good idea!

It looked like something my gerbils would like. However it was a pain to assemble, cheaply made, and they quickly chewed it up! Stick with cardboard tubes and wood for play accesories.

Frustrating but I'd buy it again
»
It's incredibly frustrating to put together, but it does allow for some interesting little houses. While working on it, though, you have to put the right tabs on the right side for it to stay together and even then, until you have the roof on, it's really flimsy.

Mesmerizing and Frustrating
»
I took my set and threw it, breaking a few pieces, because of my frustration level last time I used this. I will say, surprisingly, only a few pieces broke, so it must be pretty well made. And my hamsters didn't chew it... surprisingly. True, the possibilities are many for what shapes you can create and how this can interconnect with the tubes.
What they don't tell you is that you will waste at least 2 hours each time you try to reconfigure these pieces into something new. And if you take them apart to clean them, good luck reassembling it quickly. It's an exercise in futility in many cases. But an interesting toy for hamster owners...

Castle for a King (or a Hamster..)
»
Overall this is a good product. When assembling, I ended up having to superglue the peices together to make it hamster safe. (Make sure to air it our for a few days!) Now, my hamster sleeps in it, stores his food in it, and even manages to stuff all the extra space with bedding, which is quite amusing being he has to carry it up a tube mouthful by mouthful. The rubber loops that attach to the tubes are also compatable with the Critter Trail Tube Extensions, so this playground can be put in or out of the main cage. I wouldn't suggest using it as a main cage however, it would be to small. Also, the main pannels I recieved were not clear as in the picture, so its a little harder to see your pet when he is in it. (check out the customer images to see my design :)
