Soft cheeses such as camembert and brie are best cut with this wide and thin blade. The holes prevent the cheese from sticking, so you can slide it easily onto a cracker or pair with a slice of fruit. Each Grand Prix II knife is precision forged of a single blank of high carbon stainless steel, skillfully honed by hand twice. The perfectly balanced tool features molded handles that are slip-resistant and completely hygienic. An update to the original line, the Wusthof Grand Prix II knives offer more ergonomically designed handles combined with the high quality and contemporary good looks chefs and home gourmets alike desire.

The perfect gift for any cheese lover, this 5-inch knife makes neat work of sticky soft cheeses. Four large holes enable thin slices of Stilton or Camembert to slip right off the blade. The gently curved profile features a pointed tip; just insert into a wheel of Brie, then rock back for the cleanest cut. As helpful as it is for prepping cheese plates, this knife is so stylish you’ll want to bring it to the table or buffet to let guests serve themselves. While it’s safe in the dishwasher, hand washing produces the best results. Grand Prix2 knives offer a compelling blend of precision, comfort, and legendary Wüsthof quality. Like the Grand Prix line, Grand Prix2 boasts a high-performance handle and a sleek contemporary look, with the addition of a more rolling, rounded profile that fits beautifully into the pocket of the palm. Molded ergonomically designed handles are pebble-textured for slip resistance even when wet, then permanently bonded to the entire tang for a superbly balanced feel. Blade, bolster, and tang are precision-forged from a single piece of high-carbon stainless steel for the ultimate in strength and durability. A computer-controlled process grinds and polishes the blade so it’s perfectly tapered from back to edge and tip to handle. The edge is then twice honed by hand and finally laser-tested for long-lasting sharpness. Grand Prix2 cutlery is made in Germany and carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Mary Park

Nice knife but...

Nice knife, sturdy and sharp, it works great on soft cheeses as recommended but the Global cheese knife works much better for soft AND hard cheeses. The Wüsthof was difficult to use with a manchego because the blade is "straight", the Global is micro and macro serrated which allows to cut through the manchego like butter if you make the correct wrist twist. Even though, the Wüsthof has a confortable and cool design. Got this one as a gift for a german knives lover. For me... I still prefer the Global as a multitasker, which by the way works great also with tomatoes.
