Decent steamer for the price

I'm going to call this a steamer rather than a steam cleaner, because unlike the big units you can rent, it looks like a vacuum but it doesn't vacuum anything. Even though it will shoot hot steam onto what you're cleaning, it does nothing to clean up the dirt and water that's left over.
The unit is pretty well made, and comes with many different brushes and attachments. You fill the reservoir with water and within a couple minutes it's ready to go. Just don't forget to put the cap back on like I did. Be sure to check all through the packaging, because the attachments are stuck into the sides of the styrofoam packaging too. The attachments are varied but hard to work with. There's just too many. I tried cleaning around my kitchen and the brushes didn't stand up to being used for hard scrubbing. Additionally, it's sometimes hard to figure out what part attaches onto what, and the different parts are sometimes hard to get apart. I had to use pliers on one of them.
All in all, this did a pretty good job cleaning my lineloem kitchen floor, sinks, stove, refrigerator, bathtub, and such. It didn't get everything but I could tell the steam did make a difference.
If I had it to do again though I'd get a (more expensive) unit that would suck the steamy dirty water back in so I didn't have to go behind and wipe everything with a rag.

This product really works! I have lots of tilework in my bathrooms where mold and mildew have been a problem; often returning within a day or two. I've used every cleaner on the market and nothing worked. It has been over a week and a half now and the tiles are still sparkling clean. Also, it's really a "green" machine because all you use is water. It's worth it's weight in gold!

A little heads up. Steam cleaners are not as versitile as the informertials would like you to believe. That being said, I really like this steamer. I have owned/used others in the past, and this is by far the best. It removes paint from tile, cleans baked on grease and grime off of stoves and microwaves and aids in the removal of wallpaper. It has a screw in top(I have used others that simply have a lid, making it dificult to pick up and use for fear of spilling), and a strap. I am currinlty using it for remolding and it is perfect to reach the tops off walls to help soften wallpaper for removal.

I must say that this the best product I have ever bought. We installed ceramic tile seven years ago. The tile has a textured surface and it didn't take long for dirt to build up in the textured surface. Mopping did little for the appearance and our electric floor scrubber helped but never could completely clean the surface. We were contemplating changing the tile out for a smooth surfaced style.
I happened to come across information on home steam cleaners on the internet. After researching products I came across one that sounded great and had earned the Good Housekeeping guarantee after they had tested it. I found the best deal at Goodman's and ordered it. This product is excellent, well made, a good value and loaded with accessories.
We got it in and tried it out immediately. The embedded dirt in the tile surface melted away and the tile was like new again. The surface is left germ and bacteria free and everything smells great. Now all that is required is a periodic passing of the steamer to maintain the floors. The best part is that it is chemical free and just uses dry steam that evaporates immediately.
Just buy it!
