got this for my dad also..he just loves the fact that he can hear the time and temperature on an hourly basis. I agree also that the buttons in the back sometimes get pushed when he moves the clock, but other than that, he is just thrilled with it..in fact he wants me to get another one for him!

alarm!

No where did it say this had an alarm. The person I bought this for is legally blind and always manages to press buttons to turn alarms on but can't figure out how to turn them off. I am sure she is not the only one who does this. The simpler the better this wan't what I was looking for. It also didn't work when we got it. We set the time but it wouldn't talk and tell you the time when you pressed the talk button. My husband had to take it apart to fix it. Now I just need to find some way to cover the buttons so she won't accidently turn on the chime or the alarm to wake herself when she doesn't wish to. I was really diappointed with this product.

Very nice, I don't know that anyone needs to know the temperature of their room? A blind person uses this clock. The buttons on the back may need a cover so when they reach to push for the time they don't accidently unset it by squeezing them. Someone else does the setting.
