Be warned, the filter is a GENERIC replacement for the HAC504
»
OK, so I should have read the reviews before purchasing. I would have seen from the first review that this is not made by Honeywell itself.
The product details says "Item model number: HAC504", the Honeywell model number.
I received a "Best Air HW500 Humdi-Wick". Best Air Humidifier Filter (HW500)
I don't like being bait & switched, so I am dropping the rating down to 1.
But the price for the HW500 with a few minutes of online searching was, at it's cheapest, $1.50 more, and even on amazon from a non-misleading item search, was $3.50 more. And the company did ship pretty quickly; it arrived 3 days after the order was placed. For that, I am raising the rating to 2.
I have no review on how well the HW500 will work in the Honeywell humidifier yet. I am going to go ahead and use one for a couple of weeks to see how well it works. I will say that the diameter is smaller the the HAC504, but I am not sure if that will make a difference. If it works OK, I will come back and raise the rating to a 3.
To the seller: To get any higher, I would need to see some indication in the main product item page that this is a GENERIC filter instead of a Honeywell brand item.

Filter looks different in box than picture shown

The filter shown is not the filter I received, although honeywell explained to me that the HAC504A was an acceptable alternative. I would warn against purchasing this b/c I was told they often ship filter substitutions without having to notify the buyer.

GREAT PRICE
»
I thought that I would end up paying every bit of $25.00 or more for a replacement filter for my Honeywell humidifier. I was wrong, found it for only $5.00 and $4.99 s/h! What companies don't understand is that any perceived revenue loss is made up by increase in number of units sold. See, it didn't hurt that bottom line too much now did it? And I am even more motivated to return here for repeat business because I felt like I got a good deal....imagine that?

BUYER BEWARE
»
These filters are generic and NOT made by Honeywell... They are thinner than the Honeywell brand and they are a smaller diameter than the Honeywell brand which means that you have to forcefully put them into place. I still have a good unused Honeywell filter that I compared them to. I emailed customer support and have not heard from them at all. Good luck to you if you order through this company. Will not be doing business with them again.... Thanks amazon.com for putting this slime company on here for me to purchase from.

eh...

I bought this to replace a filter in my Honeywell Humidifier. I didn't know that it was generic, is it? Anyway, it does its job in the humidifier in the corner or my bedroom and I'm good! Then again, I wasn't asking much in a filter, so how wrong can it be?
