A finely crafted cutlery set is an investment worth making. Especially when it's hand-forged in Germany by Wusthof's skilled craftsmen. Made of quality high-carbon stainless steel, this six inch carving fork keeps meat in place while you slice it. The curved, tapering prongs are also sturdy enough to lift roasts out of pans. Lifetime warranty; hand wash.

Don't underestimate the importance of a good carving fork. It must fully immobilize cooked poultry and roasts, or slicing becomes a struggle. With long tines that curve slightly away from each other, this model is beautifully designed to do the job. This fork penetrates and stabilizes large roasts to make slicing maximally efficient; it adequately holds meats so you can turn them as they cook. Part of the Classic series, this fork represents two centuries of unexcelled Wüsthof craftsmanship. Like other cutlery in the series, it's hand-forged from a single piece of stainless steel for maximum strength. Dishwasher-safe and with a traditionally shaped, ergonomically designed handle that is triple-riveted for durability, this fork also has hefty strength and excellent balance to ensure a lifetime of satisfying use for its owners. --Arthur Boehm

Wüsthof Curved Fork
»
As a longtime Wüsthof-Trident collector, I've acquired both their Classic Curved Fork and their Classic Straight Fork. I use the curved fork for turning pot roast that is being cooked in a Dutch oven, as well as for lifting roasted meat, game, and poultry from a roasting pan onto a carving board. I also use a tine of this curved fork to pierce roasts for checking the color of their juices as a test for doneness. This fork is made to the same specifications as the Classic line of Wüsthof knives - it has full-tang construction, meaning that it's forged from a single blank of high-carbon, no stain steel, and it has the traditional triple-riveted design. The handle of the curved fork feels balanced in my hand, so I can use it to turn and lift roasts with ease. The tines of this 6-inch fork are 4.5 inches long, and their curve has been ergonomically designed. This fork is not really suited for carving roasted meat, poultry, or game. It's much easier to use a straight carving fork inserted into the roast to pinion it and then serve as a guide for the carving knife. Wüsthof makes an 8-Inch Curved Fork, too, so if you're going to be lifting and turning large heavy roasts, and you have large hands, you might want to look around for that one. I hand wash and dry all my Wüsthof forks and knives, but the manufacturer states you can wash this fork in the automatic dishwasher.
