inconsistent but eventually worked in china

The adaptor worked fine for charging my laptop, but didn't purchase item for the adaptors as I have learned that hotels have adaptors for guests to use, but check first w/ your hotel to confirm. I purchased this item for the wattage converter to be able to use my hot iron in China. The first outlet I tried it on the converter did not work at all to heat up my hot iron and, it was not the outlet as the hairdryer provided in the room did work in the same outlet. I then tried it on another outlet in the room and same result - nothing, as in, the converter did not make any sound, did not even turn my hot iron on. I gave up thinking product was defective however on my 2nd day in China I found an outlet that was built into the desk in the hotel room, I gave it one last try and this time it did work, without any issues (i.e., converter getting too hot). Not sure what the issue was with the first 2 outlets but the product did work and maintained the high heat for my hot iron & I used it the week I was there w/o problems.

Works as it should. I did have the setting wrong for a bit and it got really hot, but it still worked. Kept working after I got a clue and set it up correctly.

Good product, but doesn't catch everything

Not too big or too heavy (which was important for limited luggage weight now), and it worked well for charging my camera in the European river boat cabin and in Switzerland hotel. However, I should have double checked my curling iron; it's a dryer/iron combo that is 300W so neither setting on the converter worked. Also, the riverboat had 1 outlet that was set for American appliances, but I needed a plug adapter and this product doesn't allow the plug adaptors to fit without the converter.
Overall good value for the price.
