« Quilt patterns with cutting instructions »

This Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns illustrates 'basic' or familiar patterns. Each pattern is illustrated by an actual quilt, and includes patterns/templates, fabric requirements and piecing instructions. Great for beginners and expert quilters. A wonderful additon to any quilters library.

« Buy it! »

I own this book and would never part with it. It is a comprehensive encyclopedia of patterns, along with directions and pictures. I donated many quilt magazines to Goodwill after purchasing this book, because it is all you need. There are more patterns in here then you could make in 1 lifetime! I enjoyed the full color photos and added directions on how to change the size of the quilts from wall-king size. Also, it has both rotary and template piecing directions.

« Don't let the cover fool you. »

I didn't find the cover appealing, but picked it up in a hobby store, opened it and immediately decided I had to have it. It has 101 patterns with beautiful photographs of every quilt. There were a number of applique quilts that I had not seen before. This is a treasured book in my quilting library.

This book takes you step by step through making each quilt (and include all of the templates for each quilt). I have now made 6 quilts out of this book and they are fantastic!
